COVID-19 Announcement

COVID-19 Update 15/05/2020

We are pleased to announce that our Workshop is now open for service, MOTs and essential repairs, albeit with a reduced level of staff and adherence to strict social distancing guidelines.

Bookings will be by appointment so please call us on 0131 660 2229 or book online here

We would like to request your understanding and support in our plan to provide whatever assistance we can to key workers and vital services in order to maintain vehicles on the road. In appreciation of their continual dedication, we are also offering all NHS staff a 15% discount on any service and repairs, plus priority booking where available.

If we cannot facilitate repairs, we will endeavour to keep key people mobile with the provision of a temporary vehicle wherever possible.

If you are worried about not using your car as regularly as usual the AA have provided some useful information here.

COVID-19 Update 17/04/2020

In accordance with Government recommendations we will remain closed for another 3 weeks. During this closure our phones may not always be answered.

Our management team are currently working to ensure that when we open again, measures are in place to ensure our customers and staff remain safe. In the meantime we request that if you have an appointment prior to 7th May for a service, repair or MOT, please do not attend. Our team will contact you to reschedule your appointment.

If you are worried about not using your car as regularly as usual the AA have provided some useful information here.

We do still have a small number of key staff available to discuss any urgent motoring needs with you. We would encourage you to get in touch via email at enquiries@dalkeithford.co.uk , our website or Facebook and we will help wherever we can.

Our aim during this challenging time is to assist you in any way we can. Hopefully this list of answers to the most commonly asked questions will help.

Sales and Finance:

Can I still buy a car?
Our showrooms are currently closed. However, given the current supply restrictions in place we are able to advise on a case by case basis in terms of what is possible. Please do get in touch and we will do what we can to assist. Please contact us at sales@dalkeithford.co.uk

I have ordered a car and awaiting delivery, when is that likely to be?
As a result of the current situation there has been disruption in the supply chain of new vehicles. This may be due to a factory closure or the ease of which vehicles can be delivered to our dealership. Therefore, Ford have suspended deliveries of all new cars, including sold vehicles. On our return we will endeavour to deliver all outstanding orders as quickly as possible. If this situation affects you please contact us at sales@dalkeithford.co.uk and will do our very best to give you an update on the current delivery status of your vehicle.

My finance agreement is due to cease on my current vehicle, what should I do?
Please contact your finance provider as they have a team of advisors working to support customers based on their individual circumstances. Some providers have recently updated their web sites to provide a facility to chat with an advisor online or to manage your account. Please check your finance provider’s web site or contact us at sales@dalkeithford.co.uk and we will assist as best we can.

Can I take a payment holiday with my car finance repayments due to the current situation?
This will vary depending on your finance provider. Each finance provider has a team of advisors working to support customers based on their individual circumstances. Your finance provider will discuss what is available to best help you. As mentioned above, some providers have updated their web sites and now provide a facility to chat with an advisor online or to manage your account. Please check your finance provider’s web site or contact us at sales@dalkeithford.co.uk and we will assist as best we can.

What does the latest Government Announcements on COVID-19 mean for Motability Scheme members?
If you are coming to the end of your lease, Motability will automatically extend your lease for 6 months. There is no need for you to do anything and you will continue to be insured. A full list of Q&A’s from the Motability Scheme can be found here

After Sales:

My MOT is due to expire?
Any vehicle requiring an MOT after 30/03/2020 has been given a 6 month extension so your vehicle will still be legal to use. As the vehicle owner you are still obliged to keep your vehicle in a roadworthy condition. When we are fully operational again we will be in touch when your new date is close. Further details regarding the change can be found here

SARA – Breakdown & Recovery?
There will be an initial extension of 4 weeks on contracts ending between March 20th and April 20th.  The 4 week extension period will be reviewed to ensure customers are supported. For any urgent issues requiring Ford Assist roadside rescue, repair or recovery, contact  Ford Assistance on 0203 564 4444 option 1.

What happens to my warranty if my service is late due to COVID-19?
Manufacturers have confirmed warranties will remain valid if your service is late due to COVID-19. When we are fully operational, we will get in touch with customers to arrange for the service to be carried out as soon as possible.

Can I book pre-book my service for when the branch is back open?
At present we are unsure of the exact date we will reopen, If you wish to contact us to arrange a booking when we re-open then please email service@dalkeithford.co.uk and we will contact you on our return. However, you can rest assured that on our return we will be sending customers service reminders for all services that fell due during the closure.

I am a Key Worker, how do I get my car repaired/serviced?
We are continuing to provide an emergency for vital key workers. This will ensure we can keep vehicles on the road and make it easier for those people who still have to get to work in their key jobs. If you are a key worker and need assistance, email us at service@dalkeithford.co.uk
